Android 4.4 KitKat has released from a long time; however not much phones got this on them and mostly new phones are coming with this OS. If you own Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 and thinking to get this update than you couldn’t get it officially; however in this tutorial I’ll tell the instructions on how you can update your phone to the Android KitKat.
- Your phone should be charged at least 80% before proceeding to the tutorial.
- Your phone must be rooted and have latest CWM installed, it needs 188.8.131.52 version at least.
- Backup everything whatever you’ll need later, including contacts, messages etc.
Rooting and Flashing with custom ROM will void your phone’s warrantee and it can be risky for your phone to flash with any custom ROM, nor we or the developer will responsible for any damage you did to your phone. This ROM must used only on Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660; not on any other model or variants.
How to Root Samsung Galaxy Gio?
Step 1 – Download Root file and move that to your phone’s Memory Card.
Step 2 – Turn off your phone and boot into Recovery Mode by pressing Home + Power Key and hold it till your phone boot.
Step 3 – Now, in the Main Menu of Recovery Mode select Apply Updates from SD Card, and choose the downloaded root file.
Step 4 – When it asks for confirmation, simply select Yes and you’re done!
How to Install CWM on Samsung Galaxy Gio?
Step 1 – Download CWM Package and move that to your phone’s Memory Card.
Step 2 – Boot into Recovery Mode.
Step 3 – Now select Install from SD Card and then choose the CWM Package you have recently downloaded.
Step 4 – Now reboot your phone, and you’re done!
Update Samsung Galaxy Gio to Android 4.4 KitKat:
Step 1 – Download the ROM and put it on your phone’s SD Card.
Step 2 – Boot in Recovery Mode.
Step 3 – Now Wipe up following – Wipe Data / Factory Reset and Wipe Cache Partition.
Step 4 – Now in the Main Menu of Recovery Mode, click on Install from SD Card and then choose the downloaded ROM.
Step 5 – Reboot your phone and you’re done!
